Internet Strategist

JOB SUMMARY:

The Internet Strategist is responsible for developing, directing and presenting innovative, results-oriented internet marketing strategies and research approaches for prospective and current clients and assigned accounts and projects.  The Internet Strategist will provide sound, accurate, and timely execution of all assigned work. In this role the Internet Strategist will support the Account team. The Internet Strategist will also work closely with all agency staff members in scoping, planning, analyzing and evaluating information for client programs & projects, as well as in managing assigned activities. It is the Internet Strategist’s responsibility to ensure the agency provides:

  • Accurate and innovative execution of work in all areas
  • Research approaches that provide unique insights for our clients
  • Responsive, consultative service to prospects and clients
  • A consistently superior creative and functional product that meets objectives

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with project teams to create recommendations, research and marketing strategies and ultimately, actions for the client
  • Work with project teams including designers and developers on all aspects of strategy and project implementation
  • Assist in the scoping and development of proposals and workable budgets
  • Conceptualize and develop User Experience plans including taxonomies, site mapping, information architecture, wireframes
  • Design and develop information architectures and user interface designs for web sites and Rich Internet, multimedia, and software applications
  • Able to development of personas, navigational structures, information design, content strategies, process flows, wireframes, and additional documentation necessary to communicate intended user experience and interaction opportunities
  • Present creative concepts and strategy plans to clients
  • Ensure that agency output meets agreed-on strategies and objectives
  • Help agency keep ahead of industry trends and best practices in internet marketing strategy, user experiences and research opportunities through continuing education (formal or informal)
  • Maintain a positive relationship between agency and client
  • Help optimize agency productivity wherever possible

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Deep knowledge of internet marketing strategy, research, media and tactics
  • Passion for Internet-based marketing research, applications and technologies
  • Experience with requirements gathering and project definition for research, usability, strategy and web/email development projects
  • Strong understanding of information design and usability methods
  • Recommends sound solutions and ideas for client success
  • Motivates self; needs no prodding/direction
  • Maintains clear communications channels with all agency personnel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Visio, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • web analytics (ie Google, Omniture, WebTrends)
  • content management systems (ie BonFire, Ektron, SiteCore)
  • email broadcast platforms (ie ExactTarget)
  • usability testing techniques
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Search engine marketing (SEO, PPC)  is a plus
  • HTML, CSS and development tools is a plus

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors or higher degree
  • Minimum 2 - 5 years experience in a consultative, client-facing, strategic online marketing role
