Interactive Flash Designer

JOB SUMMARY:

Optiem, a Cleveland-based interactive web design and marketing firm seeks a creative, multi-tasking, Interactive Flash Designer to work on interactive and multimedia assets including websites, content features, learning tools, advertising, CD-ROM, streaming media, etc., incorporating best design and technology practices to provide cohesive support of overall creative strategies. Exceptional web and graphic design skills required. This is not an entry-level job; candidates should have at least two years of experience using Flash and writing Actionscipt as well as other design experience for the web.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and update Flash-based interfaces client and internal projects using Actionscripting 2.0 and 3.0. Experience integrating dynamic data sources
  • Create dynamic and compelling web designs for client sites utilizing best practices in user interface design
  • Ensure site design integrity and quality control
  • Code web pages using standard web languages such as HTML and advanced CSS
  • Interact closely with Creative Director, other designers, developers, sales staff and other agency staff
  • Stay ahead of industry design standards and trends
  • Work with back-end programming staff to communicate design to technical implementation
  • Be involved in other initiatives as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Expert knowledge of web design tools and platforms, including Flash with Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Shockwave, Illustrator, and Fireworks
  • Experience developing advanced data-driven Flash applications
  • Experience with online coding languages, such as HTML, DHTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Experience with 3D rendering programs such as Studio 4D or 3DMax is desirable
  • Ability to work directly with clients on an as needed basis
  • Ability to take projects from inception to completion with little supervision
  • Brainstorm creative, innovative solutions for other projects across the company as a whole
  • Advanced web design and layout skills
  • Knowledge of setup and configuration of web applications
  • Familiarity with online content management systems
  • Ability to generate and present creative ideas
  • Some experience with audio and video production tools would be beneficial
  • Proven ability to deliver cross platform, cross browser projects
  • Experience with web standards and accessibility standards a plus
  • Color vision including color discrimination

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in graphic design or commensurate experience
  • 2+ years experience in flash design, graphic design, coding and corporate branding
