It does seem like 5 weeks ago that I was running around the halls of the Austin Conference Center, attending one of the largest (5500+ attendees) interactive conferences - South by Southwest 2007. This was a great chance for Paul, our Creative Director, and I to hear and swap ideas with the leaders, competitors and fellow workers of our industry.
A lot of the panels were recorded and can now be heard as a podcast. Topics ranged anywhere from design inspiration to mobile application development. The rooms were crowded and sessions were timed very close together so there was not much time to talk to the panelists but as everyone was here for the duration you did have the chance to see a lot of them at lunch or in the evening and they were all very approachable.
With WiFi abundant, though sometimes overburdened, there was a lot of blogging, twittering and IM'ing and the hunt for open power sockets to charge up your laptops was sometimes fruitless. A lot of discussion around the pros, cons and misconceptions of what Web2.0 is as well as what is going to be the "next big thing".
Paul and I wrote a little on our own blogs and you can view the Flickr group of attendees’ photos. The 2007 Web Awards were great fun and we will definitely be entering next year.
